From the Dark to the Dawn
Share
I was running from the pain, chasing shadows in the night
Every bottle, every high, just trying to feel alive
But the mirror told a story that I couldn’t face again
A broken man, a wounded child, a prisoner of my sin
Then grace came breaking through the chains
Love called me out by name
From the dark to the dawn, You pulled me out of the grave
Where the lies had me bound, Your mercy made a way
Now I stand on the rock, not the man I used to be
From the dark to the dawn, Jesus set me free
I still remember May 12th 2021
When I laid my burden down and said, Lord, Thy will be done.
You took the shame, the trauma, and the madness in my mind
Turned my pain into a purpose, gave me peace I couldn’t find
Now I’m walking where the Spirit leads
A soldier on bended knee
From the dark to the dawn, You pulled me out of the grave
Where the lies had me bound, Your mercy made a way
Now I stand on the rock, not the man I used to be
From the dark to the dawn, Jesus set me free
Now I’m preaching to the broken
Telling them there’s hope inside
That the same God who saved me
Can raise the dead to life
Warpath in my spirit
Armor on my chest
Every scar’s a testimony
Of the God who conquered death
From the dark to the dawn, You pulled me out of the grave
Where the lies had me bound, Your mercy made a way
Now I stand on the rock, not the man I used to be
From the dark to the dawn, Jesus set me free
Yeah, from the dark to the dawn…
Your love set me free
